Grape variety: Freisa;
Colour: garnet red or light cherry
red, tending to orangey with ageing;
Bouquet: characteristic, delicate
fragrance of raspberry and roses;
Flavour: sweetish, fresh with a pleasing
raspberry finish. The dry version
is delicately soft after a brief period
of ageing;
Minimum overall alcohol content: 11%
by vol.;
Minimum ageing by law: not prescribed;
when the wine is aged until 1 November
of the year following the harvest
and has been made from grapes with
an overall minimum natural alcohol
content of 11.5%, it can be denoted
"superiore".
