"Dolcetto d'Asti"

Dolcetto
d'Asti is produced in the hilly part of
the Asti area, and is bright ruby red
in colour, with a heady, pleasing, characteristic
bouquet and a clean, velvety, harmonious
palate.
The minimum alcohol content is 11.5%,
while the "Superiore" version
must have a minimum alcohol content of
12.5%, and be aged for a year. Dolcetto
d'Asti can be drunk throughout the meal.

Bouquet: heady, pleasing, characteristic;
Flavour: clean, velvety, harmonious,
with balanced acidity;
Overall minimum alcohol content:
11.5% by vol.;
Minimum ageing by law: not prescribed;
when the wine has been made from grapes
with an overall minimum natural alcohol
content of not less than 12%, is sold
with an overall minimum alcohol content
of 12.5%, and has been aged for at
least a year from 1 January following
the year of the harvest, it can be
denoted "superiore".
