"Brachetto d'Acqui"
|
Brachetto
d'Acqui is made exclusively from Brachetto
grapes from hillside vineyards in numerous
communes in the provinces of Asti and
Alessandria.
Ruby red in colour, tending to light garnet
or rosé, this wine has a very delicate,
characteristic musky bouquet and a sweet,
soft, delicate palate.
Red and spumante varieties are produced.
It should ideally be served between 8
and 12 °C, as its aromas are lost
when chilled.
One of its particular characteristics
is that of enhancing the flavour of strawberries
and peaches, which is why it is often
used in fruit salads and sorbets.
It is traditionally served with Piedmontese
biscuits, bakery products and fruit tarts.
